V. Raghavan , Ph.D. (Sheffield), formerly Professor of Materials Science at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India, taught materials science courses at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA, and at IIT Kanpur and IIT Delhi for many years. A Fellow of the American Society of Metals and an honorary member of the Indian Institute of Metals, Professor Raghavan is the recipient of the Brunton Medal of Sheffield University, UK (1964), the G.D. Birla Gold Medal of Indian Institute of Metals (1985), and the Hume-Rothery Award of the Institute of Materials London (2001).

context ok. issues with kindle

the book seems to be well written and makes the subject fairly straightforward . However, i would not recommend reading on a kindle for more than just a review because the figures, equations, charecters, section headings, and graphs do not display, or do not display correctly.

Beautiful book

Having watched (and loved) Whitney Miller on the first season of MasterChef, I just had to buy this book. It's beautifully done with quality paper and lovely photos. So far have made her Oven Fried Catfish (I substituted Tilapia and it worked just fine) and her Buttermilk Pan Fried Chicken which was, without a doubt, the best chicken to ever come out of MY kitchen. I am certainly no chef and consider myself to be an average cook, so I really appreciate her detailed explanations on how to make these dishes come out a winner. Even if you didn't watch the TV show, there is much to be gained from this 'cookbook'. Also purchased the "MasterChef" cook book and although I haven't attempted any of the dishes yet, there are many I look forward to making.

My husband and I was so excited when Whitney won Masterchef and couldn't wait for her cookbook. I just cooked my first meal from it- "Cauliflower Mac n Cheese". Very yummy and husband approved! The only down side to the cookbook is that the recipes lack nutritional information, would have been nice to have. I am looking forward to trying more recipes. I am so happy for Whitney!

I could not wait for Whitney's cookbook to finally come out! As a southern lady, I love the contemporary twists that she put on some traditional southern dishes. I also love the mocktails!! So yummy! I recently made the oven-fried catfish, dillicious potato salad, and cast iron skillet cornbread for friends and received raving reviews. I would definitely recommend this cookbook to everyone!

Still a Dog

I thought Still a Dog would be more exciting, even through it had drama it was dull. How could one man get into so much trouble? Every decision he made was the wrong one. After reading half way through I thought to myself enough already wake up, I started to get bored. However I do like Mark Anthony's previous work and I would still buy his books.

Mark Anthony is one of my favorite urban authors. I'am so happy to see he finally decided to make the sequel to Dogism after 10 years. It was more glitz and glam than the first one since the character takes on a different profession than his regular blue collar gig. I was not disappointed with this one, kept my eyes glued to each page after page.

Too many nails.

Harris is undoubtedly a meticulous historian and master story teller. Imperium, though, left me a bit bewildered by the number of characters and legal machinations. The protagonist, as portrayed through the voice of his slave and secretary is not at all a sympathetic person. Probable our Cicero was close to the same in real life. I had to stop reading this book toward the middle as the accounts of crucifictions were too disturbing to me having spent thirteen years in parochial school.

Lawyers will love this well researched and fast moving book.

Allie didn’t realize having so many jobs would become great research material for the stories she writes. Sky has her secrets we saw some of them coming out for Tori's POV in the last book, but now we see at all no-holds-bard from Sky's point of view. Were you wondering who she really is and what she wants? Now's your chance to see who and what she really is.

Sky has been told stories her entire life about the Atlanteans and how they would treat her if they knew of her existence, now out doing her mothers bidding she gets to see first hand what people are really like. It's not all like the stories she was told but can she escape from her mothers hold and find herself along the way?

Reef is neither Seperatist nor Royalist so who is he? What is his true purpose and can Sky trust him? As she learns more and more about him it becomes harder to distance herself from him. Their missions differ in some ways but in others they are the same can they figure it all out and find happiness?

I loved seeing Sky tell her story and how she felt about her life. Watching her you see where her bitterness at the beginning turns into something else as she spends time away from her mothers influence. This is a great and interesting series all around.

A great new heroine! A year ago for Christmas, I was given gift cards for both Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Being a stay at home mom, I wanted to make the most of the money and get as many books as possible. The first box set I bought had Allie Burton’s first book in this series and I became hooked! Since then, I have bought and read each book in the Atlantis Series and have truly loved each and every one of them.

The writing is amazing. You get addicted early on and stay that way until the very end. Each book is about a different daughter of Atlantis. This one is about Sky. My heart went out to her. She was raised to think she was a monster. Her own mother, the one who should have nurtured her and gave her inspiration, raised her to believe she was evil. Her mother told her many lies about her father along with many other things. When Sky meets Reef, the adventure begins.

The relationship between Reef and Sky is very rocky. Neither knows if they should trust the other. There are many questions and neither gets the answers they are seeking quickly. As the reader, you are kept on your toes as to what is going to happen next. Truly, an amazing adventure. There are moments of suspense, excitement, life or death, laughter, rage, and yes, love.

I do recommend that you read this series in order. If not, you will be greatly confused. I like how with each book, you get to meet new characters, but you also get to reconnect with the beloved characters from the previous books in the series. I highly recommend this series. I cannot wait to see what is yet to come. This series is easily in my top 10. Go 1-click today.

Helpful and Easy to Understand

This is a good text/workbook for learning Quick Books, which can be daunting. It is easy to follow with good explanations. This particular edition (and it's low price) did not include the disk, which can be a problem because you need it to track the files used in the book to do the lessons and understand the concepts. I'm in a class that uses this book, so have access to those files. So for me, it was great to get it at such a good price.
